The 1989 edition of the Arts & Crafts Map was where it all began, and annually since then we have published this map guide to the galleries, museums and craft shops in and around Cape Town.
Over the years, using the successful recipe established by the Arts & Crafts map, other maps have been added to help people access special fields of interest. We had registered as Arts & Crafts Maps cc, but as we spread our wings into other areas, we abbreviated this to A & C Maps cc – which as it turned out sounded so much more politically sussed!
If you are interested in good food – and who isn’t – or in what to do with the kids, or what to do on a rainy day, then we can help with those different maps. If you want to access gay friendly Cape Town then pick up a copy of the Pink Map. If a more sustainable lifestyle and responsible tourism are key issues to your decision making – there’s the Cape Town Green Map. Libraries are a click away if you check the Library Map. Ditto – Craft Shopping. Feeling the need to Explore Creative Cape Town? There’s a map to show you the way. The Design Route will take you to the design hot spots in and around the Mother City.
Working with Cape Town Tourism, A&C Maps is developing a series of 8 maps to help you navigate your way through the city. Cape Town has been divided into 8 self contained area and each individual map will showcase the special characteristics of that locale.
Our series of maps will help you find your way. That’s a promise that we are very proud of and committed to.
